One of the interseting places that must be visited in Kedah is the Muzium Padi. Muzium Padi Kedah Darul Aman is situated at Gunung Keriang, 8km from the city of Alor Setar. It was officially opened by KDYMM Tuanku Sultan Haji Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah, the Sultan of Kedah on 12th October 2004 or equivalent to 27 Syaaban 1425. It is the first padi museum in Malaysia, and the fourth to be opened in the world after Japan, Germany and the Philippines. The building which is structured after 'gemai padi' which looks like a bundle of paddy stalks consist of the main building and six other secondary building surrounding it.
And here, Muzium Padi welcoming you to come here and have a visit explore more about the worlsd of paddy and the history of paddy. Muzium Padi is open daily from 10am to 6pm. On Fridays it observes a 12.30-2.30pm recess except for Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya AidilAdha.
